Lagganbeg is a small family-run caravan and camping park near Gartocharn, on the south side of Loch Lomond. It suits campers, touring caravans, motorhomes and visitors who want a quieter base rather than a public attraction. Touring pitches are hard-standing with electric hook-ups, there is a separate grass tent area, and two campers' cabins each sleep up to four.

The reason to choose itIts best extra is the loch.

Its best extra is the loch. A walk from the park reaches the shore in roughly ten to twenty minutes depending on route and pace; the first stretch is rocky and opens north toward Ben Lomond, with finer pebbles and some sand farther along. Bring time for the nearby RSPB Loch Lomond reserve, where woodland, wetland and open-water views make this a useful base for wildlife watching. Facilities have had mixed user feedback over time, so set expectations at practical and peaceful rather than polished.

What is on siteSeparate toilet and shower blocks, a family wet room, laundry, hot-and-cold washing-up sinks,…

Separate toilet and shower blocks, a family wet room, laundry, hot-and-cold washing-up sinks, and chemical and grey-water disposal cover the essentials. Fibre broadband and an on-site Aber Kitchen for breakfast and dinner in high season are useful extras; confirm both before relying on them. Dogs are allowed on leads within the park, with cabin restrictions. The park is about three miles off the John Muir Way, so it works best as a base for exploring by car or combining with nearby walks, not as a walk-on trail stop.
