Start at Holy Cross Church, Ilam. This is a point-to-point walk, so arrange transport between Ilam and Eyam; no single route-wide car park was established.

Peak Pilgrimage is a roughly 35-mile (56 km) point-to-point walk from Holy Cross Church in Ilam to St Lawrence's Church in Eyam. Allow about 48 hours on foot, normally split over three or four days. It links sacred sites and villages rather than chasing one summit: Dovedale and Milldale lead to Alstonefield and Hartington, then Wolfscote Dale, the Tissington Trail, Monyash and Lathkill Dale before Bakewell.

The route changes as it goesThe middle section trades limestone valleys for old railway track and town stops.

The middle section trades limestone valleys for old railway track and town stops. After Bakewell, the line crosses Calton Pasture to Edensor and Chatsworth, then reaches Baslow. The easier final option follows the river; the higher Curbar and Froggatt Edge line adds broad views and more climbing. From Stoney Middleton, the path climbs steeply past the plague boundary stone into Eyam.

This is a long linear walk, not a day hike: arrange transport between the two ends and use a current guidebook and maps, because waymarks can be lost. The route has useful pauses at churches, villages, Bakewell and Chatsworth, with pubs and cafés described along the way, but no single route-wide parking, water or toilet arrangement was verified. The walk suits someone who enjoys a multi-day route with changing scenery and a bit of history more than someone looking for one dramatic summit.
