Bob’s Cove to Twelve Mile Delta Track

Start at the western end of the Twelve Mile Delta camping and picnic area, then follow the signed track west along the shore through the reserve and onward to the Bob’s Cove car park. This is a point-to-point experience. The stored line follows the mapped corridor once; the visitor distance is the full 6 km one way. Returning by the same track is about 12 km (7.5 miles), or arrange transport between the two trailheads.

At Twelve Mile Delta, turn off at the signed camping and picnic area on the Glenorchy–Queenstown Road and follow signs to the track start at the western end of the campground. Parking can be very busy in summer; do not park on the roadside or reverse into the high-speed road. Bob’s Cove has a small car park at the other end, accessed from the marked track.

Dogs are allowed only on a lead in the Twelve Mile Recreation Reserve. Share the track with mountain bikers, expect some small climbs and mixed surfaces, and take care when the track or access is wet. Phone coverage can be patchy, and a two-car or arranged-transport plan is needed for a one-way walk.
