Dr.-Hugo-Beck-Haus is a mountain restaurant and overnight hut on the Jenner, at 1,260 m. Its broad, south-facing terrace looks toward the Watzmann and over the Berchtesgadener basin. If you're already exploring the Jenner, this is a good place to plan a proper meal or a night in the mountains.
Expect Bavarian mountain-hut food in a rustic dining room or on the terrace. Kaiserschmarrn is a repeat guest favorite, so ask whether it's available when you arrive. Overnight guests should reserve ahead and bring a hut sleeping bag; one can be arranged in advance. Dogs aren't accepted for overnight stays. Bring cash or a Giro/Maestro debit card; Visa and other credit cards aren't accepted.
The hut began as the Untere Jennerhaus. Ski-Klub Berchtesgaden took it over in 1965, and club volunteers renovated it over the next two years. In 1968 it was renamed for Dr. Hugo Beck on his 75th birthday. Beck was a ski pioneer and long-time club chair.
