Falzalm from Wimbachbrücke is a steep 7.1-mile (11.4-kilometer) out-and-back to a long-abandoned pasture at 1,650 meters. It climbs through forest to Stubenalm, then into more open hillside by Mitterkaseralm, and finishes at the small hut and resting bench below Kleiner Watzmann, the prominent Watzmann-Frau. Choose this for the Alm view; Watzmannhaus lies higher up on a separate, longer continuation.

Start at Wimbachbrücke, cross the bridge and turn right just after it. After about 500 meters, reach a forest road and turn right at its second junction roughly 200 meters later. The climb passes Stubenalm (1,180 meters) and Mitterkaseralm (1,410 meters) before reaching Falzalm (1,650 meters). The forest gives way to a more open alpine slope near the destination. Turn around at the Alm for the route described here.

Allow about six to seven hours with a rest. The listed 3.5-hour walk time does not say whether it covers one way or the return, so do not treat it as a round-trip promise. Falzalm is unmanaged and has no food service. Mitterkaseralm is a staffed stop on the way, but its seasonal service can change; check before relying on it. Dogs may accompany hikers but must stay leashed in the national park.
