Elysian Rock Lookout is a small, fenced viewpoint on the Prince Henry Cliff Walk above Jamison Valley in Leura. It is a worthwhile quick detour for a broad escarpment view, often quieter than Echo Point. The approach is short, but includes steps, so it is not step-free.
The two platforms look over the forested valley, with the Three Sisters to the right, Mount Solitary ahead and Sublime Point to the left. Cross Buttenshaw Bridge and take a moment to trace the ridges; this is a wide panorama rather than a close-up of one landmark. Sunset is a popular time for the view, and the paired platforms give you different angles across the valley.
Buttenshaw Bridge spans a deep rock cleft between the platforms. The original crossing dates to 1936; a 14-metre steel replacement was installed in 2015.
