Sublime Point is a council-managed escarpment lookout and picnic area at the end of Sublime Point Road in Leura, outside Blue Mountains National Park proper. It looks across Jamison Valley from a different angle to the main Three Sisters stops. Visitors often find it quieter than Echo Point, so it’s a good pick for a short valley panorama without making a longer walk the point of the stop.

From the car park, an easy path crosses a bridge over a ravine and reaches the picnic area, then steps and uneven ground lead to the lookout platform. The path to the picnic area suits wheelchairs and strollers; the final steps to the platform aren’t wheelchair accessible. The road is sealed and suitable for 2WD vehicles.

Look across Jamison Valley toward Katoomba and the Three Sisters from their less familiar side, with Kings Tableland and Mount Solitary also in the panorama. The platform is a useful place to frame the cliff line with the valley below; the exact composition shifts with the light and cloud.

Cloud, birds and cliffsLow cloud can fill the valley and leave Mount Solitary rising above it.

Low cloud can fill the valley and leave Mount Solitary rising above it. In summer, watch the casuarinas for gang-gangs and cockatoos feeding. The sheer cliffs also draw experienced climbers to routes such as Hells Bells and Sweet Dreams; those routes are for very experienced climbers, not a casual extension of the lookout walk.
