This is an approximately 0.2-mile loop from the Thunder Ridge Overlook parking area at Parkway milepost 74.7. A short connector reaches the Appalachian Trail and the rocky overlook. Continue along the white-blazed AT through the boulders, then watch for the subtle turn back onto the Thunder Ridge loop to close the circuit at the parking area. The stored route includes the short mapped viewpoint spur and its legitimate retraced access, so the mapped line represents the complete visitor experience.
