Otford Lookout is a roadside viewpoint on Lady Wakehurst Drive in the southern precinct of Royal National Park, with wide views up and down the coast. It's worth a quick pause on a drive if you want the ocean panorama without committing to a walk. On a clear day, look south for Sea Cliff Bridge far along the shoreline.
The lookout's grassy edge gives you a foreground for the long sweep of headlands and open water. For a photo, go wide and keep some of the headland in the frame; Sea Cliff Bridge gives the southern view a small landmark to find on a clear day.
The 4 km return Werrong Beach track starts here. It's Grade 5 and takes about 1½ to 2½ hours, with a steep climb past a sandstone cliff before dropping into coastal rainforest. Bring drinking water for the walk. Otford is also the southern end of the 27 km one-way Coast Track to Bundeena, usually a two-day walk.
