PR-TF 70.1 Boca Tauce–El Jaral Trail

PR-TF 70.1 is a 7.04 km (4.37 mi) point-to-point route from Juan Évora Ethnographic Museum at Boca Tauce to El Jaral. It starts around 2,038 m, drops about 1,253 m and gains only 61 m; allow about 3 hours 5 minutes for the walk. Choose it for a marked highlands-to-village descent through Tágara, not for a loop or an easy stroll. The 6.11 km Tágara-to-El Jaral version starts lower, at the junction with PR-TF 70, and leaves out the Boca Tauce start; this is the full Boca Tauce-to-El Jaral route.

The signed path descends through pine forest toward Casa Forestal de Tágara. Near the forest house, look for the remains of a badly deteriorated tar oven and the storm-felled Pino de la Virgen beside the track. Farther down, Camino Galante passes Cruz de Manuel; the pines gradually thin, opening the lower slopes toward villages and the coast.

At Camino de Chirche, take the left-hand path toward El Jaral. The old path meets a paved track, then continues along Calle Niágara to the hamlet’s old water spouts. The route ends where Calle Niágara meets Calle Santiago Apóstol. A branch toward Barranco La Higuera is a separate spur, not part of this walk.

The start is at Juan Évora Ethnographic Museum on TF-21, km 53.5. Parking there is limited, and TITSA bus 342 serves the Boca Tauce stop. El Jaral has village parking, but you finish well below your starting point, so arrange a ride or return connection before setting out. Individual hikers have free access without a reservation.
