Brecksville Station is a flag stop on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, set inside the Station Road Bridge Trailhead. It is most useful for making a one-way trip: ride the train one direction and hike, bike, or paddle the other. The railroad carries bicycles and kayaks in a baggage car.

Check the current train schedule before planning around a stop. To board here, arrive 10 minutes early and wave both arms when the train approaches.

Parking and restrooms serve the trailhead, along with potable water, a bike rack, and a picnic table; accessible flush toilets are available at the site. A connector trail leads into Brecksville Reservation, while the Towpath, Buckeye Trail, and Cuyahoga River Water Trail make this a useful handoff point for a longer route.

A railroad stop built for recreationThe station is not Brecksville’s original depot.

The station is not Brecksville’s original depot. The Valley Railway opened in 1880 to carry coal from Tuscarawas County to Cleveland’s industries, and the town’s depot stood here; that building is gone. The current station links train rides with recreation in the valley. The line also brought city residents into the countryside for leisure, and its pastoral scenery still feels close to what early passengers saw.
