Two Medicine Lake and South Shore“Two Medicine Lake is ahead, with Sinopah Mountain rising across the water. You can enjoy that view from the developed shore without taking on a big hike, so I’d stop here even for a short visit.”

Guide
The Two Medicine Campstore is the surviving log dining hall of the old chalet complex, in the developed area beside Two Medicine Lake. If you’re already here to hike, boat or camp, it’s a handy place for basics and a quick bite. I’d pair it with the lake rather than make a special trip for the store alone.
Expect a campstore mix of camping and hiking essentials, souvenirs, snacks and simple counter food. Soup and sandwiches have been reported, so it can be a welcome warm-up after a cold or rainy boat trip. Treat it as a quick stop, not a full-service restaurant.
The building was the dining hall of a chalet built in 1914, part of a chain of Swiss-style complexes Great Northern Railway built in Glacier between 1910 and 1915. The larger complexes included guest cabins, a dining hall and staff buildings; this log hall is the piece still standing here. Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a public radio address from the chalet in 1934, though there’s no verified link between that address and the building’s fireplace.
The store sits in the Two Medicine developed area, close to the lake and its boat tours and rentals. Step outside to see the old log exterior in its lakeshore setting; the nearby lakefront point is a separate place to linger for the view.
