Current road and trail closures
Several trails are closed or have weekday restrictions; check your route before traveling. - Keeney’s Creek Rail Trail at Nuttallburg is currently closed above the Conveyor Trail junction for repairs due to flooding damage. Visitors can still use the beginning of the trail to connect to the Conveyor Trail. - Kates Plateau Trail is closed from the Upper Glade Creek Parking Area to the Kates Plateau Loop Trail because of a dangerous slide near the Glade Creek Trail junction. - Rend Trail is closed from both the Thurmond and Minden trailheads through approximately December 2027 for trail improvements. The work includes a new Minden parking area, restroom, and picnic area overlooking Arbuckle Creek; structural improvements to five historic railroad trestles; full trail-surface rehabilitation; and an accessible ramp over the “big rock” replacing a stairway. Dates may change, and weather or other unforeseeable issues may cause delays. - Church Loop Trail in the Thurmond area is temporarily closed due to downed trees. - From June 15 through November 19, the upper Kaymoor Miners Trail from Kaymoor Top to the mine site at the Kaymoor Trail junction is closed Monday through Thursday due to a trail rehabilitation project. It is expected to be fully open Friday through Sunday. During weekday closures, use the Kaymoor Trail from Fayette Station Road or the Craig Branch Trail to reach Kaymoor Mine; the stairs from the Kaymoor Trail to the bottom remain open.
