Arenas Negras Viewpoint is a short roadside lookout on TF-21 at Portillo Alto, with about 100 m of walking access from the road. It looks toward the nearby Arenas Negras cone and the wall of Las Cañadas. Keep it in mind for a quick view stop; this isn't the longer Arenas Negras hike.
The volcanic cone's profile earned it the local name el asiento de gallina—the hen's seat. The rising caldera wall reaches about 330 m in this area, giving the small cone a dramatic backdrop. Frame the cone against the wall to make its odd profile clear.
The viewpoint is listed at kilometre 33.5 of TF-21. The separate PNT-02 Arenas Negras circuit starts at El Portillo Visitor Center, not here. That center, at kilometre 32.1, has public accessible toilets and parking; viewpoint-specific facility and accessibility details aren't established.
