Restaurante Papillon is a low roadside restaurant at El Portillo, inside Teide National Park. It’s a practical sit-down meal or drink stop along the park road, and the large outdoor terrace looks toward Mount Teide. The view depends on the sky: on a cloudy day, the mountain may disappear.
There’s indoor dining as well as terrace seating under thatched parasols. Visitors describe a small shop inside selling souvenirs and local products. It’s a useful break from the drive, with a bit of shopping attached.
Some Teide-at-night and stargazing outings use the restaurant for a prearranged group dinner. If you’re going with a tour, check whether your meal is included or set in advance. Food and service reports are mixed, with the sharper complaints tied to group dinners; casual-stop accounts are more varied, so think of Papillon as a convenient roadside meal rather than a guaranteed food highlight.
