Riprap Overlook is a viewpoint on Skyline Drive near milepost 91, looking west from about 2,920 feet. It is a worthwhile pause when you want a broad valley view without taking the separate Riprap Trail; the trail and its creek-side swimming hole are different destinations. On a clear day, the view reaches toward Waynesboro and out to the Alleghenies.

Read the ridgelinesThe valley spreads beneath successive wooded ridges.
