Igueque Viewpoint is a roadside lookout on TF-24 behind Montaña de Igueque, with a broad north-facing view over the pine forest of Valle de La Orotava. Pull into the surface parking at kilometre 32.8; the outlook is beside the road, so the main stop takes no hike. It is a quick pause for the valley and cloud layer, while visibility decides how much of the distant island and coast you can see.

Look down over the pines to the cloud layer that often covers Tenerife’s north, the sea of clouds. In clearer weather, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Úrsula show to the east; La Palma may appear across the water to the west. For a photo, use the high volcanic slope in the foreground to set off the pine forest and the cloud edge. The main view is right at the roadside.

Plants and the old crossingThe viewpoint takes its name from Montaña de Igueque, which rises to 2,273 m.

The viewpoint takes its name from Montaña de Igueque, which rises to 2,273 m. Here a reforested Canary pine belt gives way to high-mountain scrub, including retama and codeso. Nearby, the separate PNT-17 is a 2.65-km linear hike through scrub and past large volcanic bombs; Canary pines return near La Crucita. The pass has long connected Tenerife’s north and south valleys and forms part of the pilgrimage route to the Virgin of Candelaria.
