Trail guide
This signed path runs 310 m one way from Mirador del Alto de Guamaso on TF-21 toward Los Tagorores. Retrace it to return to the same start: 0.62 km (0.39 mi) total, about 20 minutes walking. It is practically level and designated accessible for people with reduced mobility; access is free and no reservation is required. The published 10-minute estimate accompanies the single 310 m line, so allow more time for the return and stops.
Start at TF-21 km 42.3. The park identifies two marked spaces for authorized vehicles, but gives no general parking capacity. The route endpoint is on the same road and is only reachable from the trail, so plan to walk back unless you have arranged another pickup.
The path curves between low, dark stone walls over coarse paving, with open high-altitude scrub on either side. The grade is slight: the mapped line gains about 1.5 m and descends about 12.6 m. The formal accessibility designation is useful, but the stone surface is irregular rather than smooth; check whether it suits your mobility aid.
The path brings you toward the Guamaso cone, built from accumulated volcanic material, with large lava bombs dotted across its slopes. The short route crosses a transition from Canary Island pine forest to high-mountain scrub. On some days the trade winds leave a sea of cloud over Orotava Valley, with Teide on the western horizon; cloud and visibility determine whether those views open. For a photo, include the low stone wall and path paving in the frame, with the scrub-covered cone slope behind.
PNT 14 Alto de Guamaso is a separate, longer circuit around the cone, connected to this access route. Its terrain and distance are not part of the short accessible out-and-back, so do not assume this route's accessibility designation applies to that loop.
