PNT 37 Cerrillar - Carnicería Trail

PNT 37 Cerrillar - Carnicería is a one-way, roughly 3.03 km (1.9 mi) traverse from the PNT 02 access near Montaña del Cerrillar to PNT 20 at the saddle between Montañas de Enmedio and La Carnicería. It follows the slope of Punta de Maja, crosses the old El Filo track and continues east across volcanic scrub. Allow about 1½ hours; the park rates it low difficulty. Published distances vary: park information gives 3.02 to 3.03 km, while the downloadable route line measures about 2.7 km, so the listed distance is a little longer than the mapped track.

The path heads northeast from PNT 02 along Punta de Maja, crosses the old Filo track, then continues east to PNT 20. Dark green markers carry the route number 37. At El Filo, a separate 410 m branch, PNT 37.1, reaches TF-24 at kilometre 39; leave it out unless you mean to take that road connection. This traverse links the El Portillo and Izaña areas without following the paved road between them.

The route stays around 2,200 to 2,330 m and has about 172 m of total climbing and 84 m of descent. It is a marked, unpaved mountain path, and the official route classification is low difficulty. The ground is not a smooth accessible trail; it is not classified as suitable for visitors with reduced mobility. The Orotava Valley view can open up when the sea of clouds is clear, but cloud can hide it.

This is a point-to-point walk, not a loop. Both ends are reached on foot from their respective access trails, PNT 02 and PNT 20. Parking at either connection and a shuttle between them are not documented, so arrange your return before setting out. The PNT 37.1 road branch is separate from the main route and is not included in its distance.
