Trail guide
This 2.4-mile (3.9 km) circular route runs through Bellever Forest on mostly surfaced forest roads. It passes archaeological features and follows the Lych Way for a short stretch before looping back. This is a good outing for a couple of unhurried hours in the woods; it is more about the forest and its traces of past use than a summit view. Allow about 1½ hours. Walkers, cyclists and all-terrain mobility scooters can use the route.
Most of the circuit is surfaced gravel or forest road. A flat but unsurfaced bridleway section interrupts it partway round, so the surface changes for a while. The route returns to its starting car park. This is a mixed-surface loop, not a smooth paved path throughout.
Begin at Bellever Forest car park. All-terrain mobility scooter hire is available at Postbridge Visitor Centre, a separate stop. Toilets are available at the forest car park and visitor centre, and picnic tables sit by the forest lot. Dogs are allowed.
